> Transpacific Industries Pty Ltd was incorporated in August 1987, operating principally in South-East Queensland in the liquid waste management and truck importation and distribution arenas.

Since this time, we have grown to become Australia and New Zealand’s leading waste management, recycling and industrial solutions organisation.

Transpacific now has a presence in every state and territory in Australia and both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, and services clients from approximately 300 sites and depots.

Key company milestones include:

  • Transpacific commenced in 1987, trading in South East Queensland.
  • In 1990, established liquid waste management centres throughout Townsville, Mackay, Cairns and Mt Isa.
  • Throughout the 1990s, Transpacific continued to expand into New South Wales and Victoria.
  • Entered into a long term exclusive importation and distribution agreement for Western Star products in Australia, New Zealand and selected Asian markets in 2000.
  • Became an exclusive agency for the importation and distribution of MAN trucks, bus chassis and parts for Australia and New Zealand in 2000.
  • Entered the Western Australian marketplace in 2001 as part of a liquid waste joint venture.
  • Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in May 2005 (ASX:TPI)
  • Purchased the Cleanaway and Waste Management New Zealand businesses in 2005.
  • Between 2005 and 2009, Transpacific undertook a number of strategic acquisitions to provide a one-stop shop waste management solution to clients.
  • Commissioned Australia’s first purpose built hydrogenation plant in 2007 (Joint Venture) to recycle used mineral oil and create fuel oil base stock.
  • Acquired several manufacturing companies in 2007 to form the Superior Pak waste equipment manufacturing business.
  • Transpacific celebrates 21 years in business in 2008.
  • In 2009 Warburg Pincus become a cornerstone investor.
  • Terry Peabody, the company’s founder and Executive Chairman retires in 2010. Gene Tilbrook becomes the company’s Non-Executive Chairman.
  • Kevin Campbell commences as Chief Executive Officer in January 2011.
