Floods - How we can help

Text Size Print email

> The unprecedented flood crisis that has inundated approximately 75 per cent of Queensland is presenting challenges and trying times for all.

On behalf of everyone at Transpacific, please accept our heart-felt wishes of hope to you, your family and friends, your staff and business.

Whilst the floodwaters may not have physically lapped at everyone’s doorstep, the damage, inconveniences, and after-effects will be felt for a long time across the State and the Nation.

We believe that industry and infrastructure will be crucial to the re-building process - and the hard work starts now.

Rest assured Transpacific is at the coalface of this disaster and is already working closely with rescue services and all levels of Government to assist in a coordinated response. We are mobilising resources from around the country and putting disaster management plans into action.

How can we help your business right now?
We need to talk to you. If you need to place an order or suspend services please contact our customer service staff or your Account Manager.

To speak with our South East Queensland flood response team, please call 1800 774 557.

Transpacific has a range of services that can assist your business in the clean up.

High and Low Pressure Water Blasting and Cleaning
Transpacific operates a fleet of high and low pressure water blasting units that carry independent water stocks for the cleaning down flood-damaged surfaces.

Vacuum Tankers and Super Sucker Vehicles

Our fleet of “suction trucks” has the capacity to handle up to 20,000 litres of liquid in one visit. Our super sucker vehicles can extract sludge and other heavy compounds that are in a liquefied sludge form.

Drain Inspection and Cleaning
Transpacific operates a drain inspection and cleaning service. This service includes Jet Rodding and Root Cutting capabilities as well as a camera to inspect broken and damaged drains.

Bulk Bins
In South East Queensland Transpacific operates three businesses that can supply large “bulk bins” for your clean up. Big Boy’s Bins operates on Brisbane’s Northside, Transpacific Resource Recycling on the South, and Transpacific Cleanaway on both sides of the Brisbane River. These businesses have a wide range of bin capacities - from two cubic metres up to 30 cubic metres.

In addition, our Transpacific Bulk Haulage business (TBH) has semi-tippers and multi-lift trailers that can handle even larger loads.

We can also help with a number of other waste streams. Please contact us if you are unsure about how to handle any particular product or waste stream.

Place an order/change a service
When you place an order our staff will log it with our central response team. Their job will be to co-ordinate all orders and contact you with a likely time for action. At this stage, unfortunately we are not in a position to guarantee exact time frames.

Our people know it’s crucial that regular business practices don’t suffer during this time of crisis. To that end we will ask for order numbers or signed authorities to avoid administrative concerns. From an insurance perspective it is also prudent to retain copies of quotations, invoices and relevant correspondence.

Prioritizations
Given our involvement with Government authorities and the unprecedented demand for some of the services listed above, we are certain you will understand that a priority matrix must be instigated.

The matrix for supply of our services is as follows:
1. Life threatening situations
2. Environmental emergencies requiring immediate attention to alleviate an impending environmental hazard
3. Essential services such as hospitals and other care facilities
4. Responses in the case of further rain events, as we may be required to divert resources for preventative cleaning

Currently we have these scenarios well in hand and are already assisting local governments and our customers.

Summary
We trust you have found this information useful. Should you require further details please contact any of our sites using the ‘Contact Us’ function on the website.

Many of you will be aware that Transpacific has been directly affected by the disaster. A number of our sites, including our Head Office on Coronation Drive at Milton (on the banks of the Brisbane River), had to be evacuated.

For a short period of time we were without a server. This was a minor ‘hiccup‘ in the big scheme of things, and we are now in the process of working our way back to full capacity.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and patience at this time. Transpacific looks forward to working with those businesses that need help to clean up, rebuild and get back to normal operations as quickly as possible.
